    eternal love
Shahin Atigheh was introduced to sculpture during her post graduate studies at Fulham College in London. She continued the pursuit of this passion at the Institute de Florissant in Geneva. When she moved to California in 1985, she studied sculpture with Professor David Elder at California State University, Northridge.

Shahin is now a full-time sculptor. Her unique pieces are available for sale. Call 783-7156 for a catalog and price information.

Shahin worked at the Sooky Goldman Nature Center located at Franklin Canyon starting in October of 1999. She was commissioned to create a series of 21 animal sculptures for the Braille Trail.

You may also find Shahin teaching a sculpting class at the same location. Go to our class information page to learn more.
Ms. Atigheh's artistic philosophy "celebrates the freedom of the human spirit to express its emotions." Her work is sometimes monumental in scale, sometimes highly personal. The simple elegance of her sculpture is ideally suited to Ms. Atigheh's goals. She hopes to incorporate her work into public places. "I would like my sculptures to invite people to approach, touch and be one with my work, and therefore one with my soul."

Susan R. Karhroody is another local sculptor and painter. She received her B.A from Tehran University in painting. After working as a teacher and make-up artist for ten years in Iran, Ms. Karhroody is currently a student at CSUN pursuing a Masters in sculpting and a teaching credential. Her art incorporates political and social themes. Women (particularly Middle eastern women) are important subjects for her. To view her art, call 909-2595 or e-mail shasukia96@dslextreme.com.
