This 1930 band shell is being restored. Once the site of free concerts, it will include a state-of-the-art sound and light system. It will be renamed the Levitt Pavilion for the Performing Arts after businessman-turned-philanthropist Mortimer Levitt. Levitt committed $250,000 to the restoration and will contribute $100,000 a year for five years to offer 50 free concerts per summer. The community is asked to match the funds. Work began April 2003.
